Paranoid Personality Disorder
Living with Paranoid Personality Disorder can make it feel impossible to trust others or find peace in your relationships. We understand the weight of these challenges, and at Milton Recovery Centers, we’re here to help. With our support, you can begin to move forward and create a more stable, rewarding life.

What Is Paranoid Personality Disorder?
Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD) is a mental health condition that causes deep distrust and suspicion of others, even when there’s no real reason to be suspicious. People with PPD often think others want to hurt, betray, or take advantage of them. This makes it hard to build and keep relationships.
Signs of Paranoid Personality Disorder Include:
- Constant suspicion that others have bad intentions
- Difficulty trusting even close friends and family
- Overanalyzing conversations for hidden meanings
- Holding grudges and being unwilling to forgive
- Feeling attacked by criticism, even when it’s constructive
- Hesitancy to confide in others because of fear of betrayal
- Seeing threats where others don’t
Living with Paranoid Personality Disorder can be exhausting. But with the right treatment, you can learn to feel safer, build trust, and regain control over your thoughts and emotions.

Paranoid Personality Disorder Treatments
We offer two levels of care so you can receive treatment in a way that fits your needs.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
A highly structured, full-day treatment program designed to provide intensive support in a safe, therapeutic setting. The Partial Hospitalization Program includes:
- Individual therapy to challenge unhelpful thought patterns
- Group therapy to practice communication and trust-building
- Psychiatric support and medication management (if needed)
- Holistic activities like art therapy, yoga, and mindfulness
PHP is ideal for those who need a strong, immersive support system.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
A step down from PHP, the Intensive Outpatient Program provides structured therapy with more flexibility. It includes:
- Fewer therapy hours per week than PHP
- Continued support to help manage PPD symptoms in daily life
- Skills training to strengthen social connections and emotional regulation
IOP is a great option for those balancing work, school, or family while receiving treatment.
